Among the many writing ideas I have is one about death, specifically my own. Ideally, I'd write it after the actual event, which would not only allow me to give you the whole picture but also be an unprecedented scoop and win me the Pulitzer Prize - posthumous, of course, but that's fine.
However, it might be tricky - I'm not sure whether I'll have access to a laptop. And Amazon hasn't yet set up a site in heaven (or wherever else I end up), so distribution will be a problem. I suppose I could always dictate it through a medium, but they don't get a very good rap these days. People are very suspicious for some reason - mediums, in the public view, are about as trustworthy as politicians and industrialists.
100 years ago it was much better. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a great fan of mediums - indeed I'm surprised he hasn't yet written the book I'm thinking of himself. After all, he brought Sherlock back from the dead so he must know a lot about it. Perhaps he's too busy regaling his fellow souls with further tales of the great detective's feats.
All in all, it might be a while before I overcome the various obstacles. In the meantime, though, here's a great mystery and thriller giveaway, Death in June. Enjoy your summer reading!
